Christina L. Pompeo

 

Christina L. Pompeo, M.S., CCC-SLP, has been a dedicated speech-language pathologist for 25 years in public schools with extensive experience educating students with emotional, behavioral, learning, and communication challenges. She presently works full-time at a 5th/6th grade school and a lower elementary school in Avon, CT, with experience in grades preschool through 12th. During her time in the public schools, Christina has participated in professional development and trainings, both in and out of district, including Social Thinking, Tips and Tools for Effective Supervision, MAPS/PATH, Lindamood-Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing, and Writing Workshop. She has developed and lead pragmatic language/social skills lessons for all general education classrooms, was a member of the Accessible Education Materials (AEM) workgroup, developed and lead professional development sessions for staff, and was invited by the superintendent to be a member of the Social Emotional Learning Workgroup where she helped developed social and emotional learning goals for the district strategic plan for grades kindergarten through high school. Christina is continually cultivating mentoring and leadership skills through continuing education experiences, including graduate-level teaching, clinical supervision, and participation in ASHA’s Leadership Development Program-Schools 2019–2020.
 
Christina is also a course facilitator at Speech@Emerson, Emerson College’s online graduate program. At Speech@Emerson, she has facilitated speech sound disorders and language and literacy disabilities, as well as developed, read, and scored child cases for comprehensive exams, been a guest lecturer in comprehensive exam preparatory course office hours for school-age cases prior to comprehensive exams, and served as an immersion facilitator during weekend-long unique academic and clinical learning experiences, including dialogic reading, preschool screening, hearing screening, oral mech screening, and exit interviews. Most recently, Christina became the owner of a private practice in Simsbury, CT.  Connect by Christina Pompeo, LLC will begin seeing clients during the summer of 2022.
